How we work here
A first eye visit covers vision testing, eye pressure, examination with a slit lamp, and a dilated retina check when needed. Most decisions are taken in a single visit. For LASIK and cataract surgery, we do a separate detailed workup before scheduling the procedure.
Cost and insurance
Cashless under Ayushman Bharat, CGHS, ESIC, and 27+ private insurers. Cataract surgery is covered by almost all health insurance plans. LASIK is usually not covered because it is considered a refractive procedure.

The surgery itself takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Including check-in, eye drop preparation, the procedure, and a short rest afterwards, you are at the hospital for about 2 to 3 hours. Most patients go home the same day with an eye shield.
No. Most patients can drive 24 to 48 hours after LASIK once the vision has settled and the early discomfort has passed. Your surgeon checks you the day after surgery and clears you when it is safe.
The procedure itself is painless. You feel pressure for a few seconds during the laser. There is mild irritation and watering for a few hours afterwards. Most patients are watching TV the same evening and back at work in two days.
No. Cataract surgery at PGH is done under local anaesthesia (drops or a small injection around the eye). You are awake but do not feel anything in the eye. General anaesthesia is only used for children and for adults who cannot lie still.
After age 40, an eye check every two years is enough for most people. If you have a family history of glaucoma, diabetes, high blood pressure, or are very nearsighted or farsighted, check every year. Glaucoma causes no early symptoms, which is why screening matters.
Not always. Many squints are treated with glasses, eye exercises, or patching the better eye. Surgery is offered when these do not work, or when the squint is large. Early treatment matters because the brain learns to ignore the squinting eye, which can affect vision long-term.
Once a year, every year, even if your vision feels normal. Diabetic eye disease can develop silently and is highly treatable when caught early. We do dilated retina checks at every diabetic eye visit.
