Surgical oncology.
Cancer removal surgery for the breast, gastrointestinal tract (stomach, intestine, colon, rectum), thyroid, and gynaecological organs. Where possible, we use minimally invasive techniques to reduce recovery time.
Medical oncology.
Chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy. Day-care chemotherapy means most cycles do not need admission, and you go home the same day.
Radiation oncology.
External beam radiation for solid tumours, planned with modern imaging so we target the cancer and spare healthy tissue.
Breast cancer care.
Triple assessment (clinical, imaging, biopsy), breast-conserving surgery where possible, mastectomy with reconstruction options, chemotherapy, and radiation in one place.
Gastrointestinal cancers.
Cancer of the colon, rectum, stomach, oesophagus, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. Surgical, medical, and radiation options coordinated by the tumour board.
Gynaecological cancers.
Cervical, ovarian, endometrial, and vulvar cancers. Joint care with the gynaecology department where needed.
Tumour board consultations.
Available as a second opinion service. Send your reports and biopsy slides and our team reviews them, giving you a written opinion with the recommended treatment options.
How we work here
A cancer diagnosis is a marathon, not a sprint. Care at PGH is built around three things:
A tumour board for every case.
No major treatment decision is taken by one doctor alone. Surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists sit together to review the case.
One building, full diagnostics.
Biopsies, CT, MRI, PET-CT (through our imaging partner), and pathology are coordinated so the staging is complete before treatment starts.
Family is part of the conversation.
Cancer care affects whole families. We schedule longer consults for the diagnosis discussion and for end-of-treatment planning.
Cost and insurance
Cashless under Ayushman Bharat, CGHS, ESIC, and 27+ private insurers. Ayushman Bharat covers most of the standard cancer treatment packages, including surgery, chemotherapy cycles, and radiation. Our TPA desk handles the paperwork.

Yes. Send us your reports, biopsy slides, and imaging films. Our tumour board reviews them and gives a written second opinion within five working days. You can also book an in-person consultation with Dr. Ajay Sharma if you prefer.
Most chemotherapy cycles take two to four hours and are given as day-care, so you go home the same day. Some regimens need overnight admission for monitoring. Your oncologist will tell you which one applies to you before the first cycle.
It depends on the drugs used. Some chemotherapy regimens cause hair loss; others do not. Your oncologist will tell you what to expect before starting. Where hair loss is likely, we discuss scalp cooling and other options.
Cancer can recur. Follow-up visits, scans, and blood tests after treatment are designed to catch any recurrence early, when it is most treatable. We give you a clear follow-up schedule at the end of active treatment.
The radiation itself is painless and takes only minutes. Side effects build up over weeks (tiredness, skin changes in the treated area, and effects specific to the body part being treated). We manage side effects actively through the treatment.
Many patients continue to work, especially on regimens with mild side effects. Others need time off, particularly on the days around each cycle. There is no single right answer. Talk to your oncologist about your job and what you can plan for.
Family history (close relatives with cancer, especially under age 50), smoking, heavy alcohol use, obesity, and certain infections increase risk for specific cancers. A consultation with our oncology team can help you understand your risk and what screening makes sense for you.
