The first visit is usually within the first week of birth. After that, paediatric well-baby visits follow the standard schedule: at 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, and then yearly. Vaccinations align with these visits.

Yes. The paediatric clinic at PGH follows the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) schedule, including BCG, Hep B, OPV, IPV, DTP, Hib, PCV, Rotavirus, MMR, Varicella, Hep A, Typhoid, HPV, and the boosters. Optional vaccines like the annual flu vaccine are discussed at the visit.

For a child under 3 months with a fever (over 100.4°F or 38°C), come to the emergency the same day. For older babies and children, you can usually wait if the child is alert, drinking fluids, and breathing comfortably. Bring the child in if the fever is very high, lasts more than 2 to 3 days, or if there is breathlessness, fits, severe vomiting, or unusual sleepiness.

For PGH newborns who need home follow-up after discharge, our paediatric home care team visits. For other newborns, we recommend bringing the baby to the clinic for the first visit because the assessment is more thorough at a clinic.

Weight gain in children is best tracked over time using a growth chart, not a single measurement. Children who fall off their growth curve over several months may need investigation. Bring all previous weight records to the consultation. Most cases turn out to be feeding patterns and not underlying disease.

Yes. He handles ongoing care for asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, and food allergies. For specialist input, we co-manage with a paediatric pulmonologist or allergist as needed.
